Coastal Volleyball Club coaches attended a coaching clinic at Babson College on October 30th hosted by NERVA and MGA. USA Volleyball National Team setter Courtney Thompson headlined the event and spent some quality time with each of our coaches reviewing setting techniques, serving, defense and general national team questions. Each coach was able to get on the court with Courtney and master some high level training techniques used by the National team.
Later in the day a player clinic was held for over 80 of the regions players. After the clinic each player was able to try on Courtney’s 2012 London Olympic Silver Medal and her 2016 Rio Olympic Bronze medal. They were also able to take a photo with her and get an autograpg.
Courtney has played for 3 Olympic team coaches, Jenny Lang Ping, Hugh McCutcheon and Karch Kiraly. Her technical knowledge and experience is a valuable asset to our staff in their continued effort to stay current with the game.
